Red Rose

The weeping willow; every year
Watches the swallows fly
On their way south they go
The willow waves goodbye

The evergreen fir tree; every year
Says goodbye to the bird and the bee
For during the winter, the whole world sleeps
And those who don’t shall flee

But still Red Rose fears winter
We all must die one day
And in the winter months she’ll see
Her petals fade away.

Do not be afraid Red Rose
For in the summer you shall return
To cover the hills with your fiery bloom
The flame that never burns
